26/7/24, Day 19, Autumn Cross-Over

Creating emotional safety is a key aspect of calming our sympathetic nervous system. During times of stress and uncertainty, connecting with the loving energy of your womb can offer profound healing.

This gentle womb healing meditation helps you find comfort and strength within yourself, especially when external support is limited.

Learning to self-regulate is a powerful part of Wild Womb Wisdom.

Consciously practicing Menstrual Cycle Awareness can gift you practical evidence-based somatic tools for deepening your connection to yourself, through the rhythms and cycles of your body.

It can be extremely de-stabilising when our sympathetic nervous systems is activated.

Feelings of overwhelm can come crashing down. Threatening to overwhelm us. Our bodies can experience an assault of the senses. Panic attacks. Difficulty breathing. Our cortisol and adrenaline rocketing sky high.

Yet rather than looking outside of yourself for co-regulation, it can be extremely comforting to lean into the nurturing embrace of your womb as Great Mother.

Your womb is a sacred center of wisdom and creativity. It guides you through cycles of release and renewal each month.

Even if you no longer menstruate, your womb's wisdom remains, signaling when you need rest and when you are ready to embrace life with strength.

If you're struggling with anxiety or a dysregulated nervous system, this simple womb healing meditation can help you to experience the Great Mother's comforting embrace:

  1. Find Your Space: Place one hand on your heart and the other gently on your womb. Spread your fingers wide, feeling held and supported.

  2. Breathe Deeply: Take slow, deep breaths into your lower belly. Visualise your breath traveling from your chest to your womb, mingling with its energy. Let any feelings of anxiety, anger, or stress flow through your hand into your womb.

  3. Feel the Embrace: Allow your womb to receive and hold your emotions. Ask Her for help, and feel the warmth and support of your hands on your body.

  4. Continue Breathing: Keep breathing deeply, feeling the Great Mother's warmth embrace you. Imagine Her reassuring you that nothing you feel is too much. She is here to hold you, to listen.

  5. Embrace Your Emotions: Let your emotions surface—doubt, tears, peace. Allow yourself to be completely present in this moment, just as you are.

  6. Receive Her Wisdom: As you end the meditation, listen for any words of encouragement or gifts from your womb. It might be a word, a song, a feeling, or just the knowledge that you can always return for nourishment.

  7. Return to the Present: Gently come back to the present moment. Notice if you feel calmer, more grounded. Remember, these small steps of self-nourishment can make a significant difference when practiced daily.

CYCLE WISDOM TIP

Embodied Astrology is a powerful way to explore the Great Mother archetypal energy within us.

Drawing from Carl Jung's work, astrology uses myth and story to help us access different parts of ourselves.

To connect with the Great Mother, look at Cancer and your 4th House in your astrological chart. Although Cancer traditionally rules the 4th House, its actual placement depends on your Rising Sign.

Here are three ways to access the Great Mother's energy through your chart:

  1. Sun’s Transit through Cancer: Cancer may not be your 4th House, but the Sun's transit through Cancer (approximately June 23 - July 23) will affect the area of your chart it rules. This transit can highlight aspects of your life that need nurturing, encouraging you to focus on self-care and emotional growth during Cancer season.

  2. Sign of Your 4th House: The 4th House represents home, family, foundations, and traditions, and is ruled by Cancer, linking it back to the Great Mother's energy. Look for the sign that rules your 4th House. Depending on the transits across this area, you can call in Great Mother energy to nurture and support you during these times.

  3. Transiting Demeter: Observing where Demeter is transiting in your chart can provide insights into the Great Mother's influence in your life. Whether nurturing or overbearing, Demeter's presence helps you understand how to balance and embrace maternal energy.

  4. You can also explore other expressions of Great Mother through Ceres, Kaali, Parvati, and Black Moon Lilith. Each represents a unique aspect of maternal energy.

By integrating these practices, you can deepen your connection to your womb's wisdom and nurturing energy.
